Dridhabala, born to Kakilabala, was an ayurvedic physician who lived in the 9th century. He hailed from Panchanadapura, now known as Panjor, situated 11 km north of
Srinagar. He is well known as the redactor of the great ayurvedic medical treatise of
Charaka Samhita. He added 17 chapters in Chikitsa Sthana (Therapeutics) and also 2 complete sections of Kalpasthana (Pharmaceutics) and Siddha Sthana.
