Downy Oak




Downy Oak is a shrub with glabrescent leaves. It requires partial shade or partial sun and moist soil. It is also known as Gall Nut.

Tannic acid (gallo-tannic acid) is the major constituent in Downy Oak. The tannic and gallic acids are used in dysentery and diarrhea. Mayakku and Mayaphala are its other names.
