Diyari

Diyari is the name of the festival of Diwali among Sindhis. Lakshmi puja is performed on this day. During the lakshmi puja, chikki (a sweet) is offered to the Goddess. A peculiar custom of picking one coin from a lot and gently hitting the teeth with it is observed after the Lakshmi aarti. Houses are kept open throughout the night to welcome Goddess Lakshmi. Sindhis do not clean their premises on this day. Broomstick is not taken out and used.
