Dhumri is a scenic locale in the
Narkanda region of
Shimla District,
Himachal Pradesh.
Its thick but accessible expanses of Deodar forests, well punctuated with flowing fields and flushing meadows, provides the most stunning sights.
Dhumri is also a famous skiing spot in the state – its gentle slopes attract large number of tourists during seasons. January and February constitute the best skiing months. Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Cooperation (HPTDC} conducts basic training classes on the slopes. Skiing equipments and details can be obtained from HPTDC`s Hotel Hatu and at Highland Travel and Adventures, overlooking the bus stand.
Narkanda can be reached by bus from Shimla (65 km), which is also the nearest rail and air head.
