Dhoop Chhaon Saree

Dhoop Chhaon Saree is a famous textile product of Bishnupur in West Bengal. ‘Dhoop Chhaon’ literally means ‘double shade,’ which refers to the apparent difference in color when seen from different angles or lights. This saree is woven from silk. While weaving lac-red colored yarn is placed lengthwise and black colored yarn is woven across it. The borders of the saree contain patterns of small yellow flowers.
