Dhole (Cuon alpinus) is a medium-sized wild dog with a red-brown coat and a black-tipped tail once found throughout Asia. This species that hunts in packs belong to the endangered list.
They inhabit densely forested areas. Ferocious and agile, even tigers and leopards are said to keep out their way. The dholes tire down their prey with relentless fast pursuit. They are good swimmers and often chase their prey into the water to help catch it. These carnivorous dogs feed on deer, wild goats and mountain sheep.
