Dharmashala

Dharmashala is situated north of Mhasrul village, near Nasik. It is an ancient caravan stop-over, then protected by a fortification. The main attractions are the Jain shrines around the area. Prominent among them is the century-old temple of Jain Chaityalaya. The temple houses an ancient 2 feet statue of Mahavir in the posture of Padmasana Mudra . The place has several other statues, 31 in all, including seven Balbhadra and a Gajkumar statue. A big tower in front of the temple holds four sculptures of Mahavir Jain. The tower is beautified by its surrounding garden with a well of tasty water. The neighbouring inns offer the necessary amenities for visitors.
