Dharamvir Bharati was a famous
Hindi poet, fiction writer and editor. He was known to many as the editor of the magazine 'Saaptahik Hindustan.' He was also the editor of 'Dharamyug,' one of the most important weeklies published in India. His famous works include 'Andha Yuga' ('The Blind Age' or 'The Age of Darkness'), one of the famous Hindi plays and 'Suraj ka saatva ghoda' (The Seventh Steed of the Sun), which conveys a timeless message about degeneration of values in human society.
Bharati has been honoured with some of the highest literary and state awards, including the Padmashree. He also wrote some very insightful essays, and some prominent essay antholgies are 'Thele par Himalaya' and 'Pashyanti.'
