Dhanu Devta Temple




Surrounded by forests of pine and cedar, Dhanu Devta Temple is situated at Bihargaon, four kilometers from Shimla, in Shimla District, Himachal Pradesh. It lies at the foothills of Shimla. The temple is built in the traditional pahari style. Exquisite carvings with intricate woodwork are seen. The roof of the outer hall is in the Pagoda style. Some parts of the temple have been renovated in the modern style, but efforts are on to preserve the age-old structure. Nearby tourist destinations include Tara Devi Temple, Kamna Devi Temple, Tutikandi, Sankat Mochan Temple and Summer Hill. Dhanu Devta Temple can be accessed from Shimla (4 km.) Nearest airport and railway station are at Shimla.
