Dhankar




Dhankar, the erstwhile capital of Spiti, is a scenic village situated at an altitude of 3870 m above sea level, in Lahaul and Spiti District, Himachal Pradesh. It is 25 km east of Kaza and 23 km from Tabo.

Major point of attraction here is an ancient fort and an 800-year-old Dhankar Monastery.

The nearest airport is at Manali. The place can be reached from Kaza.
