Dhanatrayodashi

Dhanatrayodashi is celebrated on the thirteenth day of the dark fortnight of the Hindu lunar calendar month of Ashvin. It is observed as a day to evaluate one's past deeds and pay homage to the ancestors from whom one inherits his/her traditions.

Gods of health and welfare are worshipped on Dhanatrayodashi. Houses are kept clean and the day is marked by the buying of new clothes and vessels. Farmers worship their cattle and agricultural tools and weapons. Doors of the houses are hung with garlands made of mango leaves and marigolds. Shri Dhanvantari is specially worshipped on this day.
