Dhammar

Better known as ‘hori’, Dhammar is an ancient traditional style of singing. The themes typically revolve around the exploits of Lord Krishna and is especially used during the colorful Holi festival. The style is very much similar to Dhrupad. This style distinguishes itself by its use of the dhammar tal of 14 beats. Drammar is also slightly more romantic in tone.
