Deer




Deer is a beautiful animal of the family Cervidea, found in most parts of the world except Australia. Antlers are solid bony outgrow the skull, covered by velvet, which is a soft hairy skin permeated by blood vessels, when dried it is rubbed off as the antlers mature. The stem of the antler is known as beam, while the branches are called tines. The deer uses these antlers as its weapon. Some deer, such as the Musk Deer found in the southern region of Himalayas, lacks antlers; these deer uses their long upper canines as weapons.

Deer is s polygamous animal. They feed on a variety of herbaceous plants, lichens, mosses, and leaves and bark of trees.
