Deeparadhana




Deeparadhana, literally meaning ‘worship with lights’, is a ritual performed in temples after the sunset. During this time, lights lit out of camphor and natural oil is used to honor and glorify the idol. On festival days, in certain temples, Deeparadhana will be performed after the idol is adorned with Thiruvabharanam. Bells and other religious instruments accompany the ritual.
