Daroji Sloth Bear Sanctuary




Situated about 15 km from Hampi, the Daroji Sloth Bear Sanctuary is the habitat for Indian sloth bears. It is located near Hospet in Bellary District.

The sanctuary is also inhabited by leopards, hyena, jackals, wild boars, porcupine, pangolins, star tortoise, monitor lizard, mongoose, pea fowls, partridges, painted spur hen and quails. Various species of birds and butterflies can also be identified.

Visiting hours is between 06:00 to 18:00 hrs. Accommodation for visitors is available in forest guest houses at Kamalapura (12 km from sanctuary) and Hospet.

The nearest railhead is Hospet Junction Railway Station.
