Dadra, a light-classical style of music, much similar to
Thumri, belongs to the Hindustani system. Its' relatively loose method allows the artist more freedom. Dadra is performed in light ragas such as mand, pilu or pahadi. The tals (rhythm) used are dadra of 6 beats, kaherava of 8 beats or other light ones.
