Common Myna (Acridotheres tristis) is brown with a black head. In flight it shows large white wing patches. It is 23 cm to 26 cm in size. Breeding season is normally from October to March.
The bird prefers walls and ceilings of buildings. Nests are also placed in tree hollows, which are used by native birds. Nest consists of a variety of materials including leaves, grasses, feathers and assorted items.
Common Myna is a proficient scavenger, feeding on almost anything, including insects, fruits and vegetables, scraps, pets' food and even fledgling sparrows.
