Common Mallow is a perennial herb found in
Jammu and Kashmir,
Bihar and parts of Deccan Penninsula up to an altitude of 2,400 m. The stems are erect and woody with long stalk. Leaves, three to seven lobed, are smooth above and roughly hairy below.
Flowers and immature fruits are used to cure whooping cough.
It is also known as Gul-khair, Kunzi, and Vilayatiikangai.
