Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu is renowned for its brocaded sarees. These sarees, woven from cotton, feature extensive brocade works on the borders and pallu (falling edge of saree). The central portions of the body feature plain texture or ‘bhutta’ (bud) patterns. Occasionally patterns are created with
