Cire Perdue




Cire Perdue (French word which means lost wax technique) is a metallurgical art practised in India, Egypt, Mesopotamia, China and Greece. Casting of sculptures can be made easier using this technique.

This craft work is popular among the craftsman in Madhya Pradesh. Cire Perdue is also an ancient craft work of Dhokra community, which exists in Bikna village and Dariapur in West Bengal.
