Chocolate Pansy (Precis iphita iphita), also called Chocolate Soldier, is a common butterfly seen in the
Himalayas, up to an altitude of 3000m.
It lives in damp patches and shady places, and seldom in plains. Chocolate Pansy is dark reddish brown in color with a series of prominent reddish ocelli on the hind wing. It is fond of flowers of aztec marigold.
The butterfly can be seen in IIT campus, Chennai.
