Chintamani




Chintamani is a taluk headquarters town in Kolar District, Karnataka. Founded by a Maratha Chieftain, it is a small bustling industrial town on the Kolar-Chikballapur rail route.

Chandramoulishwara Temple is the major attraction here. Sericulture College lies on Chintaman i- Kolar Road, about 7 km away. Kaivara, famous for Amaranarayana Swamy temple, is 11 km west and Murugamale, a pilgrim place for Hindus and Muslims, is 8 km east. The town of Ganjigunti is 14 km towards north.

Chintamani Railway Station serves the town. Three State Highways (SH 5, SH 58 and SH 82) have routes through Chintamani. Chintamani is 30 km north of Kolar and 75 km north-east of Bangalore. Nearest airport is Bangalore International Airport.
