Chinchwad




Chinchwad, one among the twin towns of Pimpri-Chinchwad, is an ancient town situated near Pune, in Maharashtra. It is one of the prominent industrial settlement located north-west of Pune, on the Mumbai-Pune National Highway.

Major tourist attraction here is the Ganesh Temple, popularly known as Moraya Gosavi Temple. A yatra, which takes place in the month of ' Shravan', is a major draw. The Vaishnav Devi Temple at Pimpri is worth visiting. Other places of tourist importance include Appughar in Nigdi, Bhakti Shakti, Durga Devi Hill Park and Chhatrapati Shivaji Kridanagari in Balewadi.

Pune Lohegaon Airport is 15 km away. Pune Junction Railway Station (18 km) is the main station near Chinchwad. Chinchwad Railway Station is on the Mumbai-Pune broad gauge line. Chinchwad Bus Station is just 2 km from the railway station.
