Hill Station

Chikaldara is the only hill station in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra and derives its name from Kichaka, who was killed by Bhima for insulting Draupadi. The valley was initially called Kichak Bara. Chikaldara is 230 km northwest of Nagpur and is located in Amaravati District.

Chikaldara is the only coffee growing area in Maharashtra. The Melghat Tiger Project is located nearby. Sloth bears, panther, sambers and wild boar can also be spotted here.
