Chicory




Chicory is an erect perennial herb cultivated throughout India. It is characterized by fleshy tap root, oblanceolate leaves, which are crowded at the base and arranged spirally on the stem.

The seeds are recognized as carminative and cordial. It is used as a brain tonic and for checking bilious vomiting.

It is also known as Succory and Wild Endive.
