Chaupaiya

A Dance Form



A popular dance form of Haryana, Chaupaiya is performed mainly during the harvest season. Men wear dhotis, kurtas and colorful turbans during the dance and the instruments used are manjiras, chimta and nagadas. The dance gets its name from being performed to songs with four line stanzas or quatrains.
