Chandra Prajnapti Sutra is a highly revered text of Jain religion. It is a part of the
Upang Agams, a Jain canonical literature that provides explanation to the thoughts exerted by the primary texts called
Agam Sutras.
Shwetambar sects follow the teaching and principles contained in the Chandra Prajnapti Sutra.
The sutra basically deals with astronomy. This text was written with the view of assisting the astrologers who require the calculations for making various predictions. There is a comprehensive approach to the mathematics involved in the calculation of the motion of the planetary bodies.
