Chand Tara

Chand Tara is a popular motif used in many textile products. Literally, ‘chand’ means ‘moon,’ while ‘tara’ means ‘star’. As the words suggest, the design resembles the moon and stars. This celestial pattern is arranged along with four stripes of one shade alternating with the stripes of another shade.

The Chand Tara motif can be noted in the renowned Banaras and Maheshwar sarees.
