Caper grows in
Punjab,
Rajasthan, and Deccan Peninsula. The fruit is ellipsoid, ovoid or obovoid with thin pericarp. The seeds are globose, smooth, and brown. Flowers are white, solitary, and axillary.
Chopped Capers are used in a wide variety of classic sauces including tartare, remoulade and ravigote. It is also used as a flavoring agent in antipasto salads, as a topping on pizza and is mixed with Italian cuisine. The root bark is extensively used in Ayurveda.
