Brown Shrike (Lanius cristatus) is a songbird,which is a widespread winter visitor. Its average body length is 20 cm.
Its back is grayish-brown, abdomen off-white, and wings and tail covered with a mixture of dark brown and reddish-brown feathers. The bird can be identified by its distinctive black stripe over eyes and curved beaks. It is carnivorous, and prefers to store food between metal wire mesh or among tree branches.
