Brown Fish Owl




Brown Fish Owl (Bubo zeylonensis) is a large owl of about 55 cm. It has yellow eyes, reddish brown upperparts deeply streaked with black or dark brown. The throat is white. Female lays one to two eggs, often in the old stick nest of other birds or in a rock crevice. The species is nocturnal. Diet mainly consists of fish and frogs.
