Bren Tree is an ancient historic tree situated at Kulgam town in
Anantnag District and is near the Ziarat Syed Samnani. Folklore tells that the tree was planted by Hazrati Syed Ali Samnani in the Hijra Year of 786, which is in 13th century. It was set at the place where there was a spring with cold and fresh water. The circumference of the tree at the ground level measures to about 15.5 m.
Kulgam town is located west of Anantnag.
