Possibly born in 598 in northwest India, Brahmagupta was a famous mathematician and astrologer who lived during the reign of
Harshavardhana. He was the first mathematician to proclaim that any positive or negative number divided by zero becomes infinite. He also explained the solution of indeterminate equations with two exponents and the rules of solving equations of Bijaganita (Algebra). He wrote Brahma Sphuta Siddhanta at age 30.
