Bolghatty Island

Bolghatty Island is located just half a kilometer across the waters from Marine Drive, in Ernakulam. It is the site of the famous Bolghatty Palace, built by the Dutch in 1744. The palace later became the seat of the British Resident of the state. Today the palace has been converted to a Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) owned hotel.

The Bolghatty Island features a fine golf course and its charming location amidst backwaters make it a picnicker’s delight. Several vantage points on the island offer lovely views of the harbor and the sea.

Ernakulam Town Railway Station (North) is 1 km away from Marine Drive. Regular boat services connect the mainland with Bolghatty Island.
