Aparajita or Butterfly pea



Blue pea (Clitoria ternatea) is a tender perennial species of plant bearing pinkish blue flowers. It is a good food source for butterflies and hence the name Butterfly pea. This annual plant likes full sun to light shade. It is adaptable to widely varying climatic conditions. It can even tolerate extremely dry conditions. The roots and seed possess intellect-promoting, cathartic, refrigerant and diuretic proprties. It is used in the cure of epilepsy. The pods of the plant are edible.
