Blue-eared Kingfisher




Blue-eared Kingfisher (Alcedo meninting) is a small (16 cm) kingfisher. It is identified by blue ear-coverts and darker blue upper parts. It has purplish-blue color around the cheeks, nape and upper mantle.

The bird is found in forest streams in dense mangroves, bamboo, evergreen and wet deciduous forests. It feeds mainly on fish and crustaceans.
