Blue Peacock (Papilio arcturus), a favorite for collectors, is common in the lower Himalayan tracts of
Jammu and Kashmir,
Himachal Pradesh,
Uttar Pradesh,
Sikkim,
Assam and
Arunachal Pradesh.
The stomach is black, dusted with green irradiant scales. The thorax, black in color, is dusted with green irradiant scales and white spots on pro-thorax. The wingspan is around 11 to 13 cm. The upper forewing has diffused golden-green outer discal band on the lower half. The upper hind wing's discal patch is more bluish and extends into the cell.
