Black Gram




Black Gram is an annual herb, which belongs to Leguminoseae family and sub family Papilionaceae. It is grown as pure or mixed crop during kharif season, up to altitudes of 30 to 100 cm.

The shoot is hairy (brown color) and slightly ridged. The leaves are large and trifoliate. Black Gram is self-fertile. It is also cultivated in rice fallows after the harvest of the first or second crop of paddy.
