Black Bulbul (Hypsipetes madagascariensis) is a quite noisy bird of about 25 cm in length. It often rests on the top of tall trees. Its cry is resonant, diversified but noisy, and sometimes like miaow.
The bird’s plumage is shiny black, but the beak, legs and feet are all red. The bird has a fluffy crest on top of their head. Its flight and tail feathers are all decorated with thin black lines.
The bird feeds on seeds and insects.
Black Bulbul can be seen in the Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, Kerala.
