Biswan




Biswan, a historical town, is located in Sitapur District of Uttar Pradesh. It was founded about 600 years ago by Bishwer Nath, a fakir.

The tomb of Mumtaz Husain, built in Persian style, form the major attraction. Another landmark is Hazar Gulzar Shah’s Mazar, which is the venue for Urs Mela (festival) every year. Also seen here are the buildings, dargahs, mosques and inns, which were built by Shekhbari.

Nearby towns are Kamlapur and Parsendi to the west, Kirtapur and Sadrapur to the east, Mahmudabad and Nilgaon to the south and Maharajnagar to the north.

Biswan Railway Station, on the Sitapur – Muhamudabad rail route, and Amausi Airport, 82 km away, are the nearest access points.
