Bindu meaning a drop or point is a term from the Tantra tradition of Hinduism. Bindu is considered to be the source of all creation and the store-house of all the past deeds of man. Its corresponding location in the human body is believed to be at the crown of the head.
Bindu is connected to Vishuddhi Chakra (one of the seven energy centers in the body). The Brahmin community have a tuft of hair called Shikha at the crown of their head, to keep awareness of the Bindu point.
