Bhrigu Samhita is an ancient text based on astrology and was written by Sage Bhrigu. It is believed that the sage compiled this literary work with the help of
Lord Ganesh. The original text is said to contain about half a million horoscopes. These horoscopes were based on the positions of the sun and various planets relevant to astrology. This work formed the base for the
Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra, which is the fundamental book of
Vedic Astrology.
Bhrigu Samhita contains a comprehensive approach to the effects that each planet has on the 12 houses in a birth chart. Based on the information given in this literary work, a total of about 45 million horoscope charts can be drawn.
Bhrigu Samhita being an ancient piece of work, very few of the original manuscript still exist. Many of these scripts were stolen by the numerous invaders who plundered India in the course of history. Today, many astrologers give the predictions based on the copies of this ancient classic work.
