Bhiwandi

Bhiwandi is the headquarters of the Bhiwandi taluka and lies on the Mumbai -Agra road. The town is about 51 km from Mumbai and 16 km from Thane .

Located in the Konkan coastal lowlands, Bhiwandi is a rapidly growing industrial city, famous for its handlooms and power looms. Manufacture of machinery for rice mills, making carpets and silk fabrics are the major industrial activities.

Kalyan Junction Railway Station is the nearest, 10 km away. National Highway 3 passes through Bhiwandi.
