Bhel Samhita

Bhel Samhita is an ancient text on Ayurveda and is believed to have been written around 5000 yrs ago. It was written by Bhel, an Ayurvedic scholar and one of the six disciples of Punarvasu Atreya.

The text was missing for several centuries and finally the palm leaf manuscript of Bhel Samhita was traced in 1880, in the palace library at Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. Bhel Samhita is divided into eight divisions like the Charaka Samhita.
