Bhatta Muhurta



Bhatta Muhurta is a ritual performed during the Paryaya festival, in Udupi. This ritual is conducted seven weeks before the Paryaya festival. The procession starts from the Mutt, after the usual ceremonies. A bag of rice kept on a palanquin covered with a silken cloth, is taken to each temple. The storehouse of rice for the Paryaya festival is known as badagu malige.
