Bhagavati Sutra

Bhagavati Sutra is an ancient text, forming part of a collection of texts containing Lord Mahavir’s teachings, which are collectively termed as Agam Sutras. Among the Agam Sutras, this particular text is the largest. Bhagavati Sutra is also referred by the names Viyah Pannati and Vhakhya Prajnapti.

Bhagavati Sutra contains a comprehensive approach towards subjects pertaining to soul and matter. These topics along with other spiritual matters are presented in a discussion format, wherein Lord Mahavir answers the queries put forth by his disciples. This text contains about 36000 questions with their corresponding answers. Apart from the discussions, there is also reference to the various dreams that Lord Mahavir had before attaining the state of Keval-jnana (perfect knowledge). These dreams, extraordinary in their nature, primarily contain references to the numerous dimensions involved in spirituality.
