Bhagavathy Temple




Bhagavathy Temple, situated at Mannady near Adoor, is a shrine of historical and religious importance in Pathanamthitta District. The temple is dedicated to Mannadi Bhagavati, who is the family goddess of the Pandalam Royalty. It is said that the Raja on his way to Sabarimala worships in this temple. An ancient temple, it is famous for its stone sculptures. Velu Thampi Dalawa, the gallant freedom fighter of Travancore, ended his life at the temple.

The annual festival celebrated here is the Ushabali. It normally falls during the months of February and March.

Mannady is 15 km from Adoor.
