Bengal Gram (Cicer arietinum) is an erect or spreading much-branched annual herb, covered all over with glandular hair. It is found throughout north India.
The seeds, stimulant and tonic, are used in skin diseases. It is also used as a nourisher in hair and face washes. Bengal Gram is edible and no adverse effect is reported from this plant.
It is also known as Chickpea and Chanaka.
