Battalkote



Battalkote is a village located in Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir. It is about 4 km from Loran and 37 km north of Poonch.

Set amidst the snowy peaks of the Himalayas and thick forest belts, this village is counted among the most scenic villages in the state. Its natural beauty and beautiful landscape is often compared with the picturesque Gulmarg.

Apart from the scenic beauty, Battalkote is also known for the renowned shrine called Ziarat Sain Illahi Bakash Sahib. This shrine, built in the memory of a revered Sufi saint named Sain Illahi Bakhsh Sahib, attracts hordes of devotees from far and near. The saint, struck by the bewitching scenery of this village, chose to spend his last days here.
