Barmul

Barmul is a tranquil and serene village on the banks of the river Mahanadi. A lovely gorge on the Mahanadi is an attractive feature here. The course of the Mahanadi through the Satakosia Ganda (gorge) from Sunakania hills to Barmul is really amazing. Sunrise and sunset from the river are really breathtaking. The Royal Bengal tigers, leopards, bears, elephants, deer, sambhar, and wild boar can be sighted here in their natural habitat. This is a haven for many endangered birds such as hornbills, emerald pigeons and nightjars. The best time to visit is from October to April. Barmul is at a distance of 110 km from Bhubaneswar.
